Buying an Aura Dome Ready for Autumn

Buying an Aura Dome Ready for Autumn

There's a particular window in the year when people suddenly picture their garden in October and think, "I want to still be using this." If that's you right now, here's what buying ready for autumn actually involves, and why now is the right time to start.

Why autumn is when a dome makes the most sense

Summer sells itself. Everyone can picture a garden party in July. Autumn is where a dome earns its keep, because it's the season most gardens quietly give up on. The evenings draw in, the grass gets damp, and the outdoor furniture gets covered over a good two months before it needs to be. A dome changes that. The garden stops being something you're saying goodbye to for winter and becomes somewhere you're about to spend some of your best evenings of the year. Bonfire smoke, the last leaves turning, candlelight reflected in the glass. Autumn in a dome doesn't feel like making do. It feels like the point.

Timing, so you're not caught out

This is usually the first practical question, and rightly so. Delivery typically takes four to six weeks, so ordering in late summer or early autumn means you're settled in well before the clocks go back and the evenings turn properly cold.

What actually makes a difference in the colder months

A dome handles rain and wind well on its own, that's what it's built for. But a few additions turn it into somewhere you'll actually want to spend an evening. A standalone electric heater or radiator takes the chill off. A proper floor keeps things comfortable underfoot rather than standing on cold grass or gravel. And if you're planning on entertaining, festoon lighting does a lot of the work the moment the light starts to fade.

The best time to buy is before you need it

The gardens that get the most use through autumn are almost always the ones where the dome went up a little earlier than felt strictly necessary. Order ahead of the first properly cold evening, and by the time anyone else thinks to ask, you'll already know exactly how you like it. If you're picturing your own garden this autumn, glass overhead, something warming in hand, we'd love to help you get there.
